I believe that we at Leisure Lifestyle Products have a very unique, high quality portfolio of watercraft that we sell to many different individual and commercial customers. We are proud of our products and the wonderful feedback we get from all of our customers. However, it is always important for us to remember that our success depends on wonderful entrepreneurs who have designed and manufacture the incredible products we sell. Each of these Made in the USA companies -- American Pleasure Products, (Aqua Cycle), Ultraskiff, Pond King, and Hydrobikes have an incredible and unique story of innovative success. We enjoy a wonderful relationship with the owners and employees of these vendors. We do our best to serve our customers and our vendor manufacturers to ensure success for the customer experience and the entire supply chain and the jobs that depend on the entire sales & distribution process. I would like to tell the story of these wonderful companies in future blogs. Creating innovative products and bringing them to market is a challenging experience for any company. In the boat industry, it is even harder... as the products fit unique niches within a highly discretionary boating industry. The smaller relative market leaves fewer financial resources to do mass marketing ... and the path to "getting the word out" on these products is challenging.  Many of my customers have spent hundreds of thousands... even millions of dollars on their lake house properties. However, what I have learned is that almost universally, these customers did not enjoy their water as frequently as they wished.
Why is that? BARRIERS to BOATING! Inherently, we as humans tend to be a bit lazy and easily distracted. Uncovering a boat, using the lift to launch a boat, cleaning a boat before use, stocking the cooler, starting the engine, completing needed maintenance, and maneuvering a boat out of the slip are all "barriers" that stand in between the idea of enjoying an activity on the water... and actually doing it! These launch and put away routines often can take 15 to 30 minutes an to complete. And we often avoid the fun of boating because we choose not to endure the launch prep and post boating chores. If we do go through the routines, we feel obligated to load up the cooler and spend hours on the water to make the chore and prep time worthwhile.
